Tuesday night my wife noticed water had soaked the wooden base under our water heater in the garage. We could see water trails going down the side of the tank but it didn't seem like water was actively flowing. Having experiencing a flood from our last water heater 18 years ago, I figured it would not be a good idea to wait, and started calling around the next morning. One person I spoke to with very good Yelp reviews told me how old the water heater was (from the serial number) and that I was right not to wait to replace it. He wouldn't be able to get to me for a couple of days, though. He also told me to expect to pay $1300-$1500 to have it done (!). I saw Best Quality's listing in Yelp along with a few others, including the company I'd used last time. I phoned two others and hit the "Get Quote" button for Best Quality. Sergio got back to me within about 15 minutes, and after asking me a few questions via the Yelp messaging system, quoted me $1050 to replace the heater with another 40 gallon tank but a Bradford instead of the Rheem I had - I'd read somewhere that Bradford was considered to be better. He offered to come over at noon, a little more than 90 minutes from then. No one else seemed willing to quote me on the phone. Sergio and his assistant came over as promised, with the new water heater, and also immediately spotted a leak from the release valve on our water regulator out front. We'd had issues with water pressure before (as most of my neighbors also had - his gauge showed 150psi vs the 50-60 it should have been) and in fact this regulator was the 3rd one in the 32 years I've lived in the house. He quoted me another $350 to replace it, which was also very reasonable, and in about two hours every thing was done and working perfectly. I recommend you call Sergio for your issues. Dealing with him was a pleasure. I'l definitely be calling him again for my plumbing needs.Read review on Yelp
WATER HEATERS / TANK REPLACEMENT

REPLACE YOUR TANK WITH THE RIGHT SIZE.
A replacement is an opportunity to match capacity, fuel type, location, and connections to the home’s actual needs. We inspect the existing installation and outline what the new equipment will require.

UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE
Planning Tank Water Heater Replacement
Tank size should reflect household use and peak demand, while the installation must fit the existing space and service access. Gas units involve fuel and venting; electric models depend on circuit requirements. Drain pans, shutoffs, relief piping, clearance, removal access, and any applicable local requirements also belong in the project conversation. A replacement estimate is clearest when removal, new connections, and separate finish work are described.

2nd place I called that answered their phone on Sat 4/25/26 morning. Water heater pilot light gone out. Said they would be arrive at 9 am and did exactly that. Turned out the unit needed to be replaced. He went out of his way (Glendale) to get the part needed. He was very professional and his pricing was very fair considering that he researched and found the part needed for the model of the heater. I highly recommend this Company and will have no hesitation in calling them again for their services.Read review on Yelp
WHAT WE'LL CHECK
Your Tank Water Heater Replacement Options
We review the existing heater label, dimensions, fuel or electrical connections, vent route where relevant, available access, and household demand. This identifies whether a similar replacement fits or the project needs changes to capacity, location, or supporting connections.
Replace With A Similar Tank Design
A comparable tank may fit when its capacity and utility requirements suit the home and the existing location remains appropriate.
Compare A Different Capacity Or Type
Changing size or fuel can affect recovery, space, venting, wiring, and project scope, so those tradeoffs should be reviewed at the property.

Questions Answered.
Have a question about your plumbing? These answers cover what we’re often asked.
What is the cost of a water heater replacement?
Equipment size and type, removal access, utility connections, venting or wiring, and required related work all affect the estimate.
Can I replace my tank with a larger one?
Possibly. Available space, utility capacity, recovery needs, and the installation requirements need to be checked first.
Do I have to replace a tank with the same fuel type?
Changing from gas to electric or the reverse may require significant utility and venting changes. An assessment can compare the scope.
Does the replacement include wall or floor repairs?
Plumbing work and finish restoration are separate scopes unless specifically included. The estimate should state what removal and restoration cover.
